Family Respite

Oakport Haven offers respite breaks for families of children with additional needs. The centre offers education and short-term breaks incorporating social opportunities to families of visually impaired children from Ireland and all over the world. We can provide supported respite on request, providing families with members of our highly qualified team of carers.

Respite is also available to children without additional needs who may be experiencing difficulties. Behavioural workshops and group sessions can be facilitated by trained counsellors upon request. The Centre can accommodate up to 30 people, six en-suite bedrooms can each accommodate a family of four and all have flat screen plasma TVs. The main library and games room has high ceilings and a feature fireplace with 42” plasma screen TV.

The dining area boasts a state-of-the-art kitchen, designed to HACCP catering standards, with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out on the expansive patio area which is a sun trap and, when bathed in the evening sunlight, the built-in stone barbeque is perfect for any size party. The entire building has underfloor heating and floor to ceiling windows with plenty of break out areas and window seats.
